Drx 530ul Drivers For Macbook Pro
I have been unable to burn DVD on my Sony burner DRX-530UL with the diskutility that came packaged with my new iBook G4 OSX. Unfortunately, Sony's packaged Sonic software is only for Windows platform, and Sony does not have any for Mac platform. The 'Help' info on iBook is very scanty, or maybe I've not done the correct steps, or maybe the Sony burner is incompatible with iBook.
Can someone point me to some clearer instructions on burning DVD with iBook, or recommend a burning freeeware that works with my Sony burner? I would like to avoid pouring money on new devices to work with the Mac. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Now, go to the Apple menu and choose About this Mac. In the next window, select More Info.
This will bring up the Apple System Profiler. Choose Disk Burning from the choices on the left and in the RH window you will see a list of available burners. Click on the Sony and if the device is support for DVD burning from the system, it will say Supported. If not, then you will have to use a third party DVD burning software like Roxio Toast Titanium. It does not mean that you cannot use that burner with the iBook, it just means that you cannot burn directly from the system to it. Ie, from DiskUtility.
