My Hermes collections are also rock solid between 8.30am and 9.30am, which is a major advantage. I don't use the shops because I don't want to trust another organisation with my parcels before Hermes get them. Sricam app for mac.
It a is a good job if you enjoy building a rapport with just about anybody. Even though I am somewhat of an introvert, working for hermes makes it easy to engage with others, especially fellow couriers and most customers that you deliver to.
Hands down, it beats an office job However, I have not only heard, but now starting to experience, management is only concerned about getting parcels out. Your pay, workload, social/family life and commitments mean nothing to them.
Update drivers for mac. Apparently, pay used to be from £1 a parcel, but now starts from 50p a parcel. You cannot really work out which parcel will pay you what, as at the end of the month, you only get to see how many parcels you delivered and what the AVERAGE price per parcel was!!! I expected some training or a fool-proof guide to delivery your parcels efficiently.
Owner Driver Jobs
People claim you can deliver 130+ parcels in 2-3 hours: nonsense. I had a family emergency meaning I was unable to do one shift and since then they have ignored me, not providing any shifts, despite being short staffed. It's clear and obvious now why they have a high turn over of staff. Pay is mediocre at best. This is strictly a part time job or something to run along side additional work. Don’t believe this rubbish of £50-£100 per day or £10-£15 per hour, to earn £100 per day you would need to be delivering in excess off 200 parcels daily which just doesn’t happen! You are more likely to be deleivering 40-60 parcels daily and to be paid between 55-75 pence per parcel!! You get paid different parcel rates for certain sized parcels for example smaller parcels or packets you get paid the bare minimum ie 55p, a trick Hermes like to play is trying to put heavy or oversized parcels down as a “packets” so basiacally trying to get away with paying you 55p for a perhaps 10kg heavy parcel which you should be paid around £1 for.don’t get to excited £1 parcels are very rare!
Rate increases just don’t really happen, you can apply for an increase but never hear anything back for months on end. Field Managers who are supposed to be your first port of call if you need cover or need any help in any way, never answer there phones and only last on average 1-2 months then you get a new one, I’ve worked here for just over 2 years and have known 8 different field mangers. NO holiday pay, or sick pay, you have to arrange cover for your round if you wish to have time off, which means phoning people in your own time seeking available cover, driving around to drop of equipment as holiday or sick cover couriers aren’t supplied with this. Never pay you correctly, every month there is a number of parcels or deliveries you are not paid for which you have to chase up with customer services. Wear and tear on vehicle is another cost which you have to deal with, my car was just over 8 months old from brand new with about 7k milleage, within just over a year it needed replacing brake pads and disks and also two new front tires, this expense was around 400 pound. At the end of the day this is not a self employed role even though Hermes says it is, given equipment to use ie handset and chargers and given pecific start times to arrive at depot is NOT how self employed people work.

NOTE: If your printer has not been set up as an SAP printer, but you would like it to be, you can for your printer. Print to Your Computer's Default Printer With Expanded Print Options The%FE1 and%WIN queues may not allow you to take advantage of some of the special features of some printers, such as printing more than one page per sheet of paper. If your printer and print driver support those features and you need to use them, you can use the WLOC print queue (for Windows) or the MLOC print queue (for Macs). Macintosh users, be sure to read important notes, below. These queues send the print job to your computer's default printer just like%WIN and%FE1, but they will allow you to take advantage of the special features of these queues. Important Notes: • In order to use those special features, you will also need to on your computer. • IS&T does not recommend using the MLOC print queue unless you need to use these expanded print options, because of a known bug in this process that causes DTRs to print in portrait orientation instead of landscape.
